How we look after your details
We collect as little as possible. Here's what happens to your details when you book.
We collect only what we need to arrange your appointment, and we keep it safe.
When you book
When you book on this website, we keep your name, cellphone number, email address, the services and time you chose, and for a home visit your suburb and street address, but only if you tick the consent box. If you send your booking on WhatsApp instead, your list goes from your phone to our WhatsApp number. We use these details to manage your appointment, deposit and aftercare, as allowed by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We don't sell them or use them for marketing.
Messages about your booking
We send you a confirmation, a reminder the day before, and a message if your booking changes. These come by email and on WhatsApp. To send them, your name, number or email address and booking details pass through our email service and WhatsApp (Meta), which deliver the messages for us and don't use them for anything else. Each message has a private link to move or cancel your booking. If you reply to our booking number, your message is kept in our admin so we can answer it, and deleted with the rest of your details if you ask us to. Don't want WhatsApp messages? Tell us and we'll stop.
Your booking details are stored securely on our own system, and only DKJ staff with a password can see them.
Paying online
If you pay a deposit or course fee by card or EFT through our payment link, the payment is handled by Paystack, a licensed payment provider. You enter your card or banking details on Paystack's secure page, not on our website, and we never see or store them. We keep only your name, email address, the amount and whether it was paid, so we can match it to your booking. Paystack emails you the receipt.
On this website
- Your booking list and details are also saved on your own device (in your browser) so they aren't lost if you refresh. Clear them with "Clear all".
- We don't use advertising cookies or track you across other sites.
Photos
We only post photos of your nails, lashes or hair if you say yes, and never your face without permission.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, and we'll do so. Message us on WhatsApp or email info@dkjsalon.co.za. You can also contact the Information Regulator of South Africa.
